When we first met, we both said how much we wanted children. Our first "parenting" experience was combining our three cats, Stage Right, Teacup and Lucky Roo, into one household. Becoming parents to our son, Skyler, confirmed how much we love being a family! Now, we'd love to fill our home with the joy of another child, and watch our children share the fun of being siblings.

We want to raise our chid in a fully open adoption with ongoing contact between the birth and adoptive families. It's our understanding that children raised in open adoptions have a concrete understanding about where they came from. Their birth parents can see firsthand that their child is growing up so very wanted, loved, healthy, and happy in our family. We, as the adoptive parents, will know that our child was entrusted to us freely and with the birth parents' blessing.

Nancy is excited to stay at home with our new baby. She loves being there for all the firsts and sharing each new day in our child's life. As the baby gets older, he or she might enjoy some of the things Skyler does — making messes in the kitchen and family room, and taking trips to the zoo, aquarium, beach, children's museums, and riding on steam trains.

Now that Skyler is in pre-school, we are excited to have one-on-one time with the new baby. As much as we adore our son, there is plenty of room in our hearts to love a new baby just as intensely! We will love our children equally, enjoying each for the very special person that they are.
