Mike and Nancy

Nancy & Mike

We met February 1999 and instantly formed a strong connection. We became best friends, fell in love, and married September 2001 in a celebration with our family and friends. We deeply love and respect each other, and trust each other completely. We talk about everything. We laugh, joke and have lots of fun. We enjoy going to concerts and the theater, watching sports (football, volleyball, hockey), going hiking, keeping politically active, and hanging out at the beach. Most of all, we love being with our child, good friends and family.

Nancy

Mike on Nancy

Nancy is warm, fun, creative, passionate and all about family. She grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, the youngest of four children, and she loves being part of a close, loving family. Nancy's parents instilled their passion for social justice and helping the less fortunate in the community. Before becoming a mom, Nancy worked full time as a civil rights lawyer, representing the poor and victims of discrimination. She backpacked around the world, played college volleyball and competed in triathlons.

Now, being a stay-at-home mom is Nancy's greatest joy. She loves building train tracks on our family room floor, making paint messes at our family room table, and snuggling on the couch during story time. Nancy is always there with a hug and kiss for our son. Sometimes I just sit back and grin as they share a private loving moment. There is no better mother to raise my children and I am so fortunate to have her in my life!

Mike is creative, loving, fun, loyal, and the best friend anyone could have. He has hugely diverse interests - playing guitar, the theatre, hang gliding, and being outdoors. But most of all, Mike loves being with his family. Mike was raised in Southern California by parents who gave him the confidence to do what ever he wanted, and encouraged him to pursue his interests. After working in theatre for several years, Mike now enjoys being a software technical writer.

Becoming a dad has opened up a new world of fascination and wonder for Mike. He is a patient, "hands on" father, whether changing diapers, doing feedings, or going on fun outings. I fall in love with Mike more and more watching him be such a wonderful, loving father. I get a kick everyday seeing the big smile on Mike's face when Skyler runs to greet him at the door yelling, "Daddy! Daddy!"
